Although I was very late arriving at the venue due to the event in London earlier that day and getting lost!!
I was made to feel very welcome and appreciate the understanding of the host .
Everyone gathered round, helped unload the car, and a special thanks to the young lady (an impromptue Sous Chef) who put things in the oven, whilst I kept unloading and kept checking I was alright through out the evening.
The important thing is, the supprise birthday party was exactly that, after 8 weeks of planning, I believe.
It was great to play a small part in that and see the guests enjoying the evening when I was no more than a 2 feet from anyone all evening.
Thanks to Alex for sending me the fotos of the kitchen/ dinning area in advance, that was a first, and a fantastic idea. I suggest this is the way forward for all Chefs.
I sincerely hope the evening continued to be a success after I left, and yes my journey home was a lot easier.
