Valentine Aphrodisiac Menu

This is a sumptuous 5 course menu, all fish based (with an Italian Sardinian twist)

There is a very close relationship between love, sex and food. It's hard to feel romantic if you're starving. In addition fish and crustaceous are full of stimulants. So why not a beautiful fish dinner for Valentine. Our bodies produce a chemical stimulant, phenylethylamine (PEA) as well as norepinephrine. They make our bodies feel alert, alive, giddy, excited - and many of us lose our appetite. The human need for food and sex are basic, part of the foundation of our nature, which makes it sensible that they are so closely knit together.

Another way to look at it is that when you eat, you're using many of your senses. Obviously, you are using taste, but also sight, smell and touch. These sensations are the same ones used during sex. And, if you feed your lover, sensually, these sensations might be heightened.

Oysters - Rock Jersey Oysters.
One of the most notorious aphrodisiacs, oysters are high in zinc and have a reputation for being great for love and fertility

Cozze - Steamed Mussels in Sardinian Broth

Scallops - Pan Fried Scallops with Hazelnut Butter. The distinct, rich flavor and fantastic crunch of hazelnuts add a delicious twist to this recipe for scallops.

Bottarga - Fregola con Bottarga (A Sardinian traditional pasta with the finest Bottarga , in a clam Broth)

Grilled Calamari - Large Squid Calamari marinated and roasted, assuming a beautiful smoky flavour and texture

Honey Seadas
(This Sardinian sweet, famous throughout the world, pairs divinely the sweetness of the honey with the saltiness of the pecorino cheese, making for an intriguing and intense flavor.)
